Little Bird is branching out
It’s been over six years since I started my comms consultancy. And for much of that time I’ve been working with CIPR Inside providing communication consultancy, running the #insidestory awards and continually reviewing and evolving the awards since we launched them in 2012.
On Monday 16 Jan ’17 we held a brilliant judging day as part of the fifth #insidestory awards. I loved meeting the entrants and judges and hearing their stories. Everyone enjoyed the day.
But now it’s time for me to branch out more with my business. So that judging day was my last task to support the group. The committee are all set for the party when the big news of who wins will be announced. I’m coming too. Just try and stop me going to the zoo!!!
I wish the group continued success building upon the projects and events we’ve delivered together in the last five years.
What next for Katie?
I’ve just passed my Chartered Assessment and I am now a proud owner of the initials Chart.PR along with a group of hugely talented people (pictured above) who passed with me yesterday. I really didn’t realise how much I cared about passing until the day. It was challenging and tough, so to have passed and made the grade gives me a huge sense of achievement. I’ve earned the seal of approval from my peers.
Now it’s time to put all of my ideas for Little Bird Communication into practice and continue helping businesses to work better for everyone with great communication from the inside out. My favourite parts of my work are finding out about different organisations, how they work, what their people think and feel and how we can make a difference with good communication. If you would like an independent review of your internal communication, some solid communication advice and consultancy, get in touch.
I’ll also be continuing to teach internal communication at Bournemouth University in the summer and running a local internal comms professionals gathering in partnership with Jess Noble (the next one is 16:00 -1830, 21 Feb, so drop me a message if you can join us in Poole).
