Wimborne boutique shoe shop scoops national award…
Doris and Daisy shoes in Wimborne has scooped ‘Highly commended new independent ladies retailer’ at the National Footwear Today awards in Birmingham on Sunday 19th February2012.
Maria Leese, owner of the boutique shop explained: “I’m so proud to win this award. We’ve only been open 18 months and my business is going from strength to strength. My customers love our shoes and our service and it’s thanks to them that we’ve received this award. We’ve just extended our shop and are launching men’s shoes in March too.
“Men kept telling me how difficult it was for them to find good quality, comfortable shoes. I realised that men were losing out when it came to buying shoes.
Doris and Daisy’s success is due to a mix of great shoes, boots, slippers and accessories, affordably priced and with the level of customer service that sets it apart from larger retailers. It’s the personal touch that makes the difference for this boutique shop.
Maria continued: “I am especially pleased as we’ve achieved all this in a recession. I think that has made our business stronger. We’re adaptive, creative and keep moving to keep our customers happy in a tough economic climate. We listen and it is that which helps us to shape and grow our business.”
